Man In The
High Castle (MITHC) is a series based on a book by Philip K Dick with the same
name. The premise is a world where the Nazis and the Japanese won World War Two after dropping a bomb on America, and it follows two main characters as
they navigate the fascist world. The main characters in question are Juliana Crane
and Joe Blake.
We follow
them both through various trials and are introduced to important secondary
characters such as John Smith, a high up Nazi official.
The series
touches on many themes that can be considered to still be relevant today, such
as racism and anti-Semitism. Not only this but it shows the human psychology
surrounding how people react when they are surrounded by and are oppressed.
Not only
this, but it also brings up important things in history regarding things such
as Nazism, including the further continuation of the Aryan race.
The main
question that the series poses is what you would do in this alternative
history. Would you join the resistance, or would you try to fit in?
All in all,
the series and the book have a few differences, but the message is the same.
Stay tuned
